Is to teach the fun Boomers, and non-Boomers, who live in nearby local beach communities the same dance steps.
Then occasionally we can all gather in one of our beautiful parks, or beaches, meet our neighbors, make new friends, picnic or barbecue,
play our favorite music, and dance!
Since everybody from our neighborhoods will know the same
dance steps, we’ll have no problems dancing with one another and have fun, even if we just met!
In our mission statement right above, we wrote our mission is to teach
the fun Boomers and non-Boomers who live in and around our local beach communities the same dance steps.
That sounds easy, but from experience . . . most men and some women
will never go to a dance studio, but might go to a friend’s house!
So our plan for classes is to have some of you Boomer influencers,
who have the room, enjoy entertaining, and have the time,
to invite your friends and neighbors to your garage
(hence the picture of the garage door).
We’ll stop by and teach the dance classes in your garage, patio, or back yard. We’ve done this before and it’s been a smashing success.
Our goal is to have a lot of “Garage Gangs”
throughout our local beach communities like
PB, La Jolla, Mission Beach, OB, Coronado, etc.,
all learning exactly the same dance steps.
Then, besides the free summer concerts at Kate Sessions, La Jolla Cove, Spreckels Park, and others, meet and use our local parks and beaches to hang out occasionally and picnic or barbecue, meet our local neighbors, make new friends, play our favorite music, and dance!
Our experienced instructors are Albert and T-Bell.
We have been teaching for I Love to Dance and Travel since 1978,
so about 46 years.
In those 46 years, for I Love to Dance, we’ve taught thousands and thousands of people how to dance from Ballroom to Country, and more. For I Love to Travel, we escorted many of our dance students
all over the world to seek adventures, feel alive, and of course . . . dance!
What Albert and T-Bell want to bring to Baby Boomers Rock and Rule is our “Party Spark” experience.
We were very popular with corporate planners. We entertained in just about every convention that came to San Diego, and our assignment was to energize good vibes, cause a commotion, get people on the dance floor, and get the party started!
We were very good at that, and that is what we want to bring to
Baby Boomers Rock and Rule!
We’re going to teach everybody a dance that has been a dependable source of steady success for us when we’ve been hired to teach non-dancers how to dance, in a very short period of time.
This dance has been the reason we got rebooked time after time, year after year,
regardless of the theme, or the age of the attendee’s!
The secret to this dance is that it’s ridiculously simple, and works magnificently well
for all four speeds of music.
With this dance we got people genuinely dancing in just a matter of minutes!
It’s been our secret advantage for decades, but now we’re going to reveal and share
this dance tool of ours with you, and for the first time . . . give it a name.
We’re calling it “Boomerance” and will officially become a “World Premier” when we share it with our first “Garage Gang" and use it in our first outing! Will you be a part of the “World Premier?
It's stepping four times, alternating feet,
left-right-left-right for men,
right-left-right-left for women,
and if that's too complicated 1-2-3-4 for both.
If you can do this, and everybody can, you are “Boomerancing” and you can dance to
all four speeds of music!
To wow it up and make it look impressive,
we borrow the fancier moves from the classic dances, like swing, cha-cha, hustle, jitterbug, etc., but without the need to syncopate, or alternate and complicate rhythms
with slows and quick quicks.
We keep it simple by continuously stepping four easy times. That’s it! It’s like a magic trick, but only we members of Baby Boomers
Who Rock and Rule will know the secret!
It’s a line dance, but not any line dance.
It’s the basic steps line dance that Albert and
T-Bell choreographed to teach beginning dancers, or new dancers, or dancers with two left feet, or dancers with no balance, how to move forward, backward, sideways, in place, and in a circle, by only using four beats of music, and/or counting 1-2-3-4 over and over.
Once all the simple components are put together it turns into a really cool one wall line dance that’s fun to dance. It brings people together creating a sense of unity through synchronized energy and movement! Advanced dancers love, love, and love to fancy this simple line dance up, make it their own, and honestly . . .
show off their advanced dancing moves!
Snail-like slow music is the slowest of the four speeds. That’s usually when the most couples get on the dance floor. Usually the women put their hands on the man’s shoulders, he wraps his hands around the woman’s waist, they square off, hug and sway.
That’s it!
With Boomerance we’ll keep that vibe alive, but we’ll add a lot more variety than just swaying, which will turn that dance into a
deep romantic connection!

When A Man Loves A Woman by Percy Sledge
Can't Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley
Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers

The average music tempo between slow and medium speed matches our happy heart rate. It’s not too fast, it’s not too slow!
In other words, it’s the sweet spot of your heart rate between sitting
and heavy exercising.
DJ’s have figured this out.
If a DJ or Cover Band play 20 songs in one hour, 16 of those songs will be
slow or medium speed music!
The remaining 4 will be either
flying fast or snail-like slow!
For Boomerancing we’ll be spending
80% of the time in this tempo.
For those who are in the know
we’re talking 128 BPM.

Summer In The City by The Lovin' Spoonful
I Feel the Earth Move by Carole King
The difference between medium music and slow music is very slight. What isn’t slight is the overlap. Both tempos share the middle, and the middle is the sweet spot that DJ’s, Cover Bands, and Dance Teachers have discovered and use frequently to create positive energy, good juju, happy vibes, etc. When groups are being energized with this sweet tempo, in many cases they don’t even realize it! FYI, for Boomerancing we’ll be spending 80% of the time in this tempo, sometimes a little faster, others a little slower, but mostly in the overlap.
So if you ever wonder why you’re feeling so good, and having so much fun . . .
now you kind of know!

I Can't Help Myself by Four Tops
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction by
Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison
Dancing to fast music is like catching a big wave in surfing, it can be thrilling and exhausting at the same time.
Exhausting because you have to ride that tempo for 3 minutes instead of 15 seconds or a little longer on a long board!
Thrilling because it’s fun to Boomerance when you match the speed of the song.
When catching a big wave timing is everything and that holds true when dancing to the faster rhythms because the beats go by so quickly, but not when you Bommerance!
The simple 1-2-3-4 timing of Boomerance makes it easy to dance to fast music.
Join a “Garage Gang,”
and we’ll show you how that works!

OUR LOCATION IS THE INSPIRATION FOR BABY BOOMERS ROCK AND RULE
“The Real Reason” we encourage you to join us!
It’s easy to envision a conversation in a car full of tourists driving north on Ingraham from I-8 towards Crown Point commenting on the beauty that they are surrounded by, and wishing they could live here. Then imagine that they see us dancing in the park having fun, they would long to be us, probably wonder if we live here, and if they imagine that we do live in this paradise
they would most definitely say . . . “how lucky are they!”
We live in San Diego, a vacation destination, and one of the most beautiful cities in the world!
Our beach communities are “home” to us but also a staycation destination for many of the lucky people who already reside in San Diego.
Beach communities are active communities!
Sometimes we’ve seen hundreds of people, men and women, jog past our house
with the time lag between the front and back as much as 45 minutes, but they don’t seem to care, they’re all participating in a group activity that they like and are all having fun.
The eight pickleball courts in PB are full all day long. Thirty two players on the courts and just as many waiting to get on. Men and women are playing and waiting,
they’re all participating in a group activity that they like and . . . are all having fun!
We want to create that with Baby Boomers Rock and Rule, but more of a social club for boomers and non-boomers. Use dance, like pickleball or jogging, as the reason for hanging out with friends.
Use our local parks, which are always used by tourists and we mostly drive past, as our hangout destination. There, we’ll do a little dancing because that’s our jam. However we’ll mostly sit and talk and meet and become best friends forever with other locals who have also chosen
to live in one of the most beautiful and desirable places in the world!
How lucky are we!
Baby Boomers Rock and Rule is aware that we’re already living the dream, but we believe that if we add a little boomerancing to your lives, the fun in your life will be funner!
We’re just sayin’!
